Coronavirus is a “clear and present danger”!

The concurrence of the Coronavirus spreading throughout the world and the impeachment of Donald Trump have created a Bizarro World in the U.S., not unlike the one that originated in Adventure Comics in 1961.

Given the announcements that the virus has now spread to the United States and that it can spread before symptoms appear would normally call the U.S. Congress and government to high alert but in the bizarro world in which we live that has not happened because Congress is more consumed with the politics of impeachment than it is with the protection of human life.

There is now growing evidence that the virus is asymptomatic, with many carriers showing no symptoms, much like carriers of the infamous Typhoid fever.

Famed Rockefeller University president and Nobel laureate Joshua Lederberg once said “Nature isn’t benign”, “The survival of the human species is not a preordained evolutionary program. Abundant sources of genetic variation exist for viruses to learn new tricks, not necessarily confined to what happens routinely, or even frequently.”
