Defunding police departments is a self-inflicted solution

Police killed 1,098 people throughout the U.S. in 2019.

There’s a growing group of citizens who believe Americans can survive without law enforcement as we know it. Those dissenters believe, we may even be better off without it. The solution to police brutality and racial inequalities in policing is simple, supporters say: Just defund police.

These are not mafia hitmen being chased down by mounted police. They are defenseless American citizens protesting in the Nation’s capital.

Many cops would like you to believe they work in the wild, wild west where they’re constantly confronted by violent criminals just waiting for them to drop their guard like in the movie Forsaken, in which a retired gunman attempts to reconnect with his estranged father when he comes up against a local gang and must consider going back to his violent ways.

But, that’s exactly how many cops see the world and more dangerously, how they see U.S. citizens in general.

The two on the top are Buffalo cops who knocked down a 73 year old defenseless man in their efforts to “clear the streets”. The one on the bottom is the pig who murdered George Floyd.

None off them should be allowed to wear a badge and more than likely, none of them should have been hired to be police officers in the first place.

Defunding police departments is a self-inflicted penalty police departments across the United States are bringing upon themselves. It has little to do with racism and everything to do with a cruelty mindset too pervasive in many police departments.
