He won’t keep it up “as long as voters go along”. He’ll keep it up as long as “the media goes along.” No one believes trump gives one flip about what “voters think”. His only concern is what he reads/sees/hears about himself. He has his self image, the essence of his con, and any contradiction to that image is what gets his attention and rapid fire response.
