Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy is the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs.

This is Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, texting in 2017

“ I’m EMBARRASSED: Texas #2 in nation for new gun purchases, behind CALIFORNIA. Let’s pick up the pace Texans.” @NRA

This is Abbott’s comment after 20 innocent Texans were murdered by a gunman yesterday;

“The state of Texas will do everything it can to ensure justice is delivered to the perpetrators of this heinous act.”

What about ensuring justice for the victims Governor? You can’t have it both ways! You can’t encourage Texans to buy more guns and then ensure justice when guns are used to murder Texans like this!

That’s “the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations”. You’re a Hypocrite Governor!
