I think you missing the point with a focus on the word “likeable”. With politicians, which “like” it or not, Elizabeth Warren has become, “likeable is synonymous with “trustworthy”. Voters trust people they like and like people they think they can trust. This may be an unfair standard to hold Senator Warren to but given how untrustworthy almost all American politicians are it should not be unexpected. The whole “native American” thing hasn’t helped the Senator’s cause with her likable/trustworthiness so she definitely has work to do. But given the bed of hot coals the American electorate has been dragged over the last 6–8 years getting her to focus on convincing Americans that she can be trusted to work to make their life better could help her more than being critical of those who don’t “like” her. If Americans believe they can trust the Senator they quickly come around to liking her.
