Nothing, nothing in my life has been more heartbreaking than the story of Americans separating children from their parents and transporting them hundreds of miles away to live in what are essentially prisons. I worked most of my life outside of the U.S. and the happiest moment of every one of those trips was when I saw the sign at the top of the escalator in terminal E in Atlanta Hartsfield airport, saying, “Welcome to The USA”. By the time I saw that sign I had generally been in another country for a few months and my longing for everything American was intense but the most important thing I longed for was being back in a country, my country, where the protection of human rights and individual human dignity was of paramount importance. That was never a country I could have ever imagined would degrade other human beings by separating families like cutting cattle into cattle cars for transportation to slaughter houses. Trump and the “despicables” have caused this to come about. It must be stopped. If stopping it starts in Tornillo great but we must have hundreds of Tornillos throughout the U.S. We must let all the world know we are once again the land of the free and the home of the brave. So brave we are not afraid the less fortunate of the world partake in our freedom.

Remember the Alamo! remember Tornillo!
