The COVID-19 Solution trump will never understand

I must admit, I’m a bit tired of the over-used “We’re all in this together” phrase, especially when it’s so often used in self-serving commercials and advertisements. There are times, however, when even I see others who truly are “in it with others”, like Hannah Cairns

This is Leona Hernandez, a nurse from St. Paul, Minn., working in a New York hospital and living in an apartment donated to her by Ms. Cairns, a New Yorker, who fled the city to stay with her parents.

Ms. Hernandez told Ms. Cairns that she would move out immediately if she wanted to come back.

“Stay as long as you need,” Ms. Cairns told Ms. Hernandez. “If I come back early, I will stay with friends.”

Given the scale at which the COVID virus is attacking New York City ( https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/10/nyregion/reopen-coronavirus-nyc-testing.html?referringSource=articleShare ) there are few of us who would be THINKING of much other than saving ourselves and yer there are hundreds of Hannah Cairnss in New York doing just the opposite! We all have much to learn about what it means “to be a human being” from them.

These are the selfless people of New York ( https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/08/nyregion/coronavirus-apartment-donations-nyc.html?referringSource=articleShare ) donald trump, supposedly a New Yorker, will never know or understand. He of course abandoned his New York residence, for the safety of Florida, without a thought of helping those from whom he profited for decades.

No problem social distancing and forgetting those New Yorkers who must, here!
