“Whatever changes we see — in senators’ treatment of the victim and the national reaction to her testimony…” I’m not sure what “changes” you saw between Anita Hill’s and Dr. Ford’s treament by the Senate committee but I think many of us saw none. In fact this time around the “honorable” senators went so far as to hire a prosecutor to interrogate Dr. Ford. Even the supposed “middle-of-the-road” Susan Collins said she did not believe Dr. Ford. O, she played the femminist card and said she believed Dr. Ford was assaulted, just not by the man Dr. Ford, a trained psychologist, said she was 100% sure assaulted her. So how is that any different than congressMEM not believing Anita Hill? It’s no different! In the end neither lady was believed. Nothing has changed other than the fact Republicans learned how to run campaigns that knock the crap out of Democrats, allowing powerful men to have the votes to lay waste to truth tellers.
