While I get each of your 10 signs You’ve Got a Stupid Idea, especially “You feel an urge to get it done now” which I feel frequently, I still have to believe that many ideas that appeared “stupid” when first considered proved to be quite intelligent upon further thought.

For instance, ho do we rationalise such non-intuitive ideas as particles behaving like waves, until you look at them, at which point they “collapse” into particles again? Or the fact that measuring a particle in one location can affect the properties of its twin on the other side of the universe?

These are just two examples of Quantum physics that may have appeared to be “stupid” when first proposed but have proved to be just two of many that explain the fundamentals of our physical universe.

Sometimes a stupid idea becomes brilliant when viewed through a different lens. There was a time when “racial equality” was considered a stupid idea.
